TOP 10 TOURISM PROJECTS

Niagara Falls doesn't need to manufacture its tourism potential. The Falls, the river, our parks, music, people, history and international location are already here. Let's activate them.

Ten ambitious projects. One goal: increase visitor value and build an even better Niagara Falls experience.

Longer Stays. Higher Spending. More Reasons to Return.

01
Make Buffalo Airport Niagara Falls' Second Gateway

Buffalo Niagara International Airport puts Niagara Falls within reach of millions more travellers.

Let's build the transportation, marketing and tourism partnerships that make it a true second gateway to Niagara Falls.

02
Put the Municipal Accommodation Tax to Proper Work

Review how Municipal Accommodation Tax revenue is collected, allocated and spent.

Transparency, measurable results and a clear connection between tourism revenue and improvements to the visitor experience.

03
Centre of the Universe

Niagara Falls is more than a waterfall.

Water. Power. Honeymoons. Hydroelectric history. Peace. Beauty. Nature. Human connection.

For generations, people from every corner of the planet have been drawn here. Let's tell that story to the world.

We need leadership that represents Niagara Falls properly. Representation matters.

Branding matters. Niagara Falls is a global water superpower – one of the most magnetic places on Earth, shaped by the extraordinary power and beauty of Mother Nature.

As a tourism operator – and as Mayor – I will tell the Niagara Falls story better than the current big-government machine.

04
Bring Oakes Garden Theatre to Life

We have one of the most extraordinary amphitheatres right beside one of the world's greatest natural wonders. Let's bring it to life much more frequently.

Right here. Right now.

Welcome to the Show!

05
Music City: Turn the Frequency Way Up

How do we keep visitors here longer? Simple. Turn the Frequency Way Up!

Millions of visitors already come to our community. Let's welcome them with gratitude, energy and an experience they'll never forget.

More music. More energy. More connection. More reasons to stay.

Music City is also Project 04 in my Top 10 Projects for Niagara Falls.

Let's replace fireworks with a spectacular nightly experience that respects residents, celebrates Mother Nature and gives visitors something they can't experience anywhere else.

Street performers. Musicians. Dancers. Storytelling. Singing. Dancing.

Think BIG.

Create a spectacle people talk about for generations. Celebrate Mother Nature. Celebrate peace. Celebrate good times. Celebrate Niagara Falls.

Let's build a signature nightly experience worthy of one of the world's great destinations.

Under a Lucid administration, Niagara Falls will move beyond fireworks. No more municipal fireworks. No private fireworks.

06
Replace Fireworks with a World-Class Nightly Experience

I've listened to residents directly affected by fireworks. One Niagara Falls resident gave a powerful presentation to Council about the impact fireworks have had on his life. I agree with him.

The risk of fire is too great.

Fireworks are loud, disruptive and polluting. They're increasingly out of step with the innovative, nature-conscious destination Niagara Falls should be.

We can do better.

07
Transform the Decommissioned Rail Bridge

Turn a piece of forgotten infrastructure into an international landmark.

Transform the Decommissioned Rail Bridge is also Project 03 in my Top 10 Projects for Niagara Falls.

Protect the

Niagara River Experience

The Niagara River corridor is not simply real estate. It is one of the most important natural landscapes in the world.

Major projects involving Niagara Parks lands should face a much higher standard: meaningful public consultation, transparent financial terms, protection of public access and greenspace, and a clear demonstration that the project improves rather than diminishes the Niagara River experience.

The proposed observation wheel in Queen Victoria Park shows why that standard matters. A potential decades-long commercial use of public parkland should never get that far without the people of Niagara Falls having a meaningful voice.

As Mayor, I will advocate passionately with Niagara Parks and the Province to protect and deepen the human experience of the Niagara River, without sacrificing what makes Niagara Falls irreplaceable.

The Falls are not a blank canvas for whoever arrives with the biggest cheque. Some things are worth protecting.

Think bigger.

09
Transform the
Bus & Train Station District

Your first five minutes in Niagara Falls should feel like Niagara Falls.

Reimagine the visitor arrival experience: wayfinding, downtown connections, transportation, beautification, tourism information and public spaces — all creating a clear connection toward the Falls.

Rebuild
Niagara Falls' Tourism Machine

Every organization. Every tourism asset. Every dollar. Every mandate. Every young person. Every measurable result.

Review the entire tourism ecosystem — our organizations, BIAs, casinos, public assets, marketing, transportation, labour strategy and downtown-tourism connections. Put youth participation, employment and entrepreneurship at the centre of our tourism future. Eliminate duplication. Establish accountability. Measure performance.

It's time for some Niagara Falls tourism house cleaning.

The World Already Comes Here.

Let's give them more reasons to stay.

Niagara Falls has what cities around the world spend billions trying to create: a name known around the world, extraordinary natural beauty and millions of visitors already coming to our doorstep.

Right here. Right now. Let's build the experience around it.
